At the beginning of the 19th century the young poets Joseph von Eichendorff, Clemens Brentano, Achim von Arnim and their circle of friends made Heidelberg the centre of the late Romantic period in Germany. We follow their trail through the picturesque corners of the Old Town into the castle garden.

In the Footsteps of Mark Twain... and others

To the numerous Anglo-Saxon authors who have carried the name of Heidelberg into all corners of the earth belongs not only Mark Twain, but also Somerset Maugham and a large group of English and American authors who visited Heidelberg, sang its praises, fell in love with it, sometimes even hated it. Join a tour of the Old Town, following in the footsteps of these well-known literary figures. The tour includes a visit to the world famous Student Prison and to the historic Alte Aula, the festive lecture hall of the University.
